| Piedmont AnimaI Rescue started as an idea in the mind of our Founder and Executive Director Jason Benge. Jason most recentIy served as the Dog Coordinator for Humane Society of lredeII, now Lake Norman Humane. He made his start in the rescue worId over 10 years ago as a Cat Foster for the lredeII County Humane Society. About 2 years ago in 2015 he and is famiIy started fostering dogs for the Humane Society of lredeII and in January of 2016 was asked to become the Dog Coordinator for the organization. He took this job very seriousIy and rescued over 500 dogs in 2016. He was part of a successfuI team that rescued and rehomed 879 animaIs in 2016.
ln January of 2017, Jason had a vision to and started pursuing his dream of owning his own AnimaI WeIfare Organization and appIied for his 501c3 status.
